CONCEPT / PERFORMANCE
NOTHING

‘NOTHING’ is not a lack, but potential.
..

The performance shows a day in the Customer Service Office for Nothing at the Museum of Nothing — an institution that solemnly catalogues absence and presents exhibits such as emptiness, ether, the void, and nothingness. In the convention of the theatre of the absurd, small, ordinary, at times comic office rituals slowly turn into a quiet alarm: what happens when work loses its meaning and every action is commodified? The creators offer various variations on ‘nothing’: both as a lived state and in the realm of the word’s very meaning. It’s a light comedy that gradually reveals a bitter reflection on a system in which action is often only a semblance.
..

The production is intended for people with visual impairments (blind and low-vision audiences). An integral part of the performance is audio description, which accompanies the show and will be available to all audience members.

The performance was created as the result of an artistic residency within the Universal Art Design project, co-funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe programme.
